ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - In light of the country's current law and order situation, Prime Minister Imran Khan has summoned Home Minister Sheikh Rashid from the United Arab Emirates.
Sheikh Rashid, the Federal Interior Minister, who had gone to watch the cricket match between Pakistan and India scheduled on October 24 in the UAE, has returned home from the United Arab Emirates.
The activists of banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) planned a march from Lahore to the capital, Islamabad demanding repatriation of the French ambassador following the blasphemy incidents in France last year and the release of their outlawed party leader.
According to a police spokesman and witnesses, violent clashes between Pakistan's security forces and the TLP in Lahore resulted in the deaths of at least two police officials and the injuries of several demonstrators.
PM Imran Khan is leaving today on a two-day visit to Saudi Arabia at the invitation of Saudi crown prince Muhammad Bin Suleman.
