TEHRAN -- Iran's health ministry on Monday reported 337 death cases over the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, marking the highest single-day death toll since the virus outbreak in the country.

Sima Sadat Lari, spokeswoman for the Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education, said during her daily briefing that the total deaths rose to 30,712 in Iran. (Iran-COVID-19)

BAGHDAD -- The Iraqi Health Ministry reported on Monday 4,044 new COVID-19 cases, raising the nationwide total number to 430,678.

The ministry also reported 63 more deaths, raising the death toll from the infectious virus to 10,317 in the country. (Iraq-COVID-19)

JERUSALEM -- The first commercial passenger flight by a carrier from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) landed on Monday in Israel, about a month after the two countries signed a normalization deal.

The UAE's Etihad Airways flight landed at the Ben Gurion airport outside Tel Aviv on Monday morning. A few hours later, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner departed en route to Abu Dhabi, Israel's Airports Authority said in a statement. (Israel-UAE-Commercial passenger flight)

KHARTOUM -- Chairman of Sudan's Sovereign Council Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan on Monday welcomed the plan announced by U.S. President Donald Trump to remove Sudan from the U.S. list of states sponsoring terrorism.

Trump said on Monday that he would remove Sudan from the State Sponsors of Terrorism list after Sudan pays 335 million U.S. dollars to American victims. (Sudan-U.S.)
