BEIJING, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- The following are the updates on the global fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

CAIRO -- Egypt's Health Ministry reported on Tuesday 168 new COVID-19 cases, raising the total infections in the country to 95,834.

It is the 10th consecutive day for Egypt's COVID-19 daily infections to fall below 200. The daily count started to exceed 200 on April 23 before hitting a record 1,774 on June 19.

DUBAI -- The United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Tuesday announced 262 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total confirmed cases in the country to 62,966.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention said in a statement that the new cases of many nationalities are all in stable condition and receiving medical treatment.

SANTIAGO -- Chile reported on Tuesday that the total number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country has risen to 376,616, with 10,178 deaths.

According to the Health Ministry, in the previous 24 hours, tests detected 1,566 new cases and 39 more patients died of the virus.

JERUSALEM -- Israel's Ministry of Health reported 1,871 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, bringing the tally to 86,593.

It said the death toll from the virus hit 622, with nine new deaths, while the number of patients in serious condition dropped from 388 to 375.

RAMALLAH -- Palestine on Tuesday registered 476 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 19,594.

The death toll from the coronavirus climbed to 114, after two Palestinian women died on Tuesday, the Palestinian Health Ministry said. The tally of recoveries rose to 11,168.

BEIRUT -- Lebanon's number of COVID-19 infections increased on Tuesday by 309 to 7,121 while the death toll went up by seven to 87, the Health Ministry said.

Meanwhile, Lebanese Health Minister Hamad Hassan announced that 26 teams from the health ministry have been deployed in 23 districts to follow up on COVID-19 cases.
