ANKARA -- Turkey's confirmed cases of the COVID-19 increased by 1,035 in a single day, bringing the total cases in the country to 159,797, Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said on Wednesday.

In the past 24 hours 34 more people have died, taking the death toll to 4,431, the minister tweeted. (Turkey-COVID-19)

BEIRUT -- China and Lebanon signed on Wednesday an agreement aimed at creating cultural centers in both countries, said a statement by the Chinese embassy in Lebanon.

China and Lebanon will establish cultural centers in the two countries' capitals on the basis of equality and mutual benefit, according to the agreement. (Lebanon-China)

RIYADH -- Saudi Arabia announced on Wednesday the registration of 1,815 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections to 78,541 in the kingdom.

The Saudi health ministry also reported 14 more deaths from the virus in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll to 425. (Saudi Arabia-COVID-19)

TEHRAN -- The Iranian Health Ministry on Wednesday confirmed 2,080 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 141,591, state-run IRNA news agency reported.

Over the past 24 hours, 56 more people died from the virus, raising the death toll to 7,564, said Kianush Jahanpur, head of Public Relations and Information Center of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education. (Iran-COVID-19)
