Baggage is the new airline cash cow

Continental Airlines in the US is now charging for checking a single bag.
The charge, which takes effect from October 7th, will be specifically for economy-class passengers.
Passengers who purchase full-fare economy tickets, and military personnel and their families flying under service orders, are exempt.
Others will have to pay US$15.
