New fuel limits for Indonesian motorists
Abu Dhabi News.Net Sunday 18th May, 2008
Limits have been set on subsidised fuel purchases in Indonesia.
The government oil and gas company, Pertamina has set the limits to assist the government's plans to raise fuel prices.
Indonesia announced its intention to raise fuel prices last week, with the rising global cost of oil forcing the country to spend increasing amounts on its multi-billion-dollar subsidy scheme.
Pertamina has limited retail purchases of gasoline and diesel fuel to US$8 for private cars.
Pertamina vice president Djaelani Sutomo told the Jakarta Post the move was aimed at preventing hoarding ahead of the price hike.
